I tell you what. It’s been a while since I’ve updated the website. But it was time: a new look for a new era. And I am in a new era of writing–one where I’m actually working toward publication, instead of just dreaming about it.

Once upon a time, I could just about handle writing a query letter. I couldn’t keep a synopsis under 800 words to save my life, though, and as far as comps…*shudder*. But after rewriting Emmeline Harper, Psychopomp, I couldn’t just sit back and wish for the world to magically discover me anymore.

That book has legs. And I intend to see that she gets to stretch them. I put together a query letter, synopsis, comps, a bio and a hook all in the space of a couple of days, and they feel strong. My writing group loves the book and the query materials, and I’ve hired an editor for a professional beta read and partial edit to help me make the manuscript as strong as possible.

I’m gonna fight for Emmeline. And while the book is with my editor, I’ll continue working on the total revamp of WarFaer–down to a standalone from what was originally a trilogy, and a lot tighter and stronger for the cuts!
